Bonnie reported that the summary macro on her computer (Victoria's) is often quitting halfway through. Sometimes Word freezes and stops working while she's running the macro, too.
She entered a help desk ticket but they thought it might be something with the macro rather than Word itself.
I also asked Victoria if she's been having any problems with the macro lately. Here's her response:
It works more often than not, but I haven’t really been able to find a pattern for when it doesn’t work. I ran it last night on the reformatted Ovarian summary, which is a medium-length summary, and it did OK. Definitely slower than the old macro when it does work. But I’m not sure I can offer anything helpful for Volker to try and fix or change anything.
Victoria.
I checked out the problem on Bonnie's computer and it appears that the icon on the Quick Access Toolbar she was using in order to start the macro was linked to an older version of the macro. I recreated the link on her computer and she was able to successfully modify a 27 page document that failed before on page 18.
Bonnie reported her macro to stop again midway through the document
but we were not able to recreate the problem.
It appears that the macro is now working properly on her machine.
I believe this ticket can be closed if Bonnie confirms.
Here's what Bonnie said:
Yes it’s working though sometimes it takes a couple attempts but I think that’s more of a Word problem.
I will close this ticket.
