Many users have reported getting the attached messages in the last hour or so when opening reports in IE on PROD. The problem seems to go away after manually opening IE first before launching the report.
When you say "opening reports in IE" I'm guessing you're referring to running QC or PP reports from XMetaL. Is that correct?
I can't reproduce the problem on my machine. Does this happen for
only certain users or for all users? Can you think of a commonality
between the users for which this is happening?
Does it possibly go away after restarting XMetaL or logging off from the
Bastion host?
I thought it will be hard to reproduce because it is happening to just a few CIAT users and at least one board manager. It appears to me that this is random issue. It doesn't seem to go away after restarting XMetal. It goes away after first opening a blank IE page.
In that case - and since you have already identified a workaround - I'll keep concentrating on the CTGovDownload problem (DBATEAM-1160).
Users have reported same problem this morning after logging into Bastion Host, including users who did not have the problem yesterday and those who had the same problem yesterday. We continue to use the workaround to temporarily fix the problem.
Considering these problems, I am just wondering why IE has been upgraded to version 11 on PROD when we have version 9 on DEV and perhaps the other lower tiers? There appears to be some compatibility issues with version 11.
Well, until we know what the problem is we can't blame compatibility issues on version 11 but I certainly agree with you that it's a little odd to upgrade on the PROD bastion host before upgrading (and testing) on the lower tiers.
I will submit a WEBTEAM ticket for this problem.
Adding Bob and Alan as watchers.
We've requested to have the version of IE rolled back to IE9. CBIIT is going to test the roll back on STAGE prior to performing the task on PROD.
CBIIT has reverted the upgrade to IE11 on PROD. Everything is working
again.
Closing ticket.
