Last Thursday, we briefly discussed the dialog box that is displayed when a user with documents checked out, attempts to exit XMetal. Bob suggested that there is a way to either cancel or stop the shutdown process (I hope I got it right, Bob?). If this is true, please proceed with the modification.

I've done some preliminary investigation, and it doesn't appear that I can prevent XMetaL from shutting down once the user has told the application to quit. I think (but I'm not certain) that we could implement a separate CDR Quit command which would show the list of documents the user has checked out and only quit the application if the user clicked the OK button in the OK/Cancel dialog window. Would this meet your needs?

Will the new Quit option be in addition to the existing one? If this is the case then it will not serve our needs because users may not use the new option and continue to use the old option. May be we can discuss this further in the meeting today?

We decided in the status meeting that it's not worth implementing this.
