As discussed in the status meeting today, we'd like to consider developing an API for EHR (MedlinePlus Connect, potentially future collaborations) and other content partners. This may be something that it would make more sense to wait on for the next-gen CDR but it's worth starting the conversation.
There was some discussion in this past Thursday's status meeting about the possible need to create a public-facing server which would be used for APIs exposed by the CDR. This server would have the ability to connect to the CDR server (which is behind the firewall) and be connected to by hosts outside the firewall.
