One of the GPs reported not being able to access a mailer we recently sent her. Clicking on the mailer produces "Access has been blocked for your protection" error message for me.
Here is the link to the mailer:
https://gpmailers.cancer.gov/cgi-bin/cgsd.py?id=xlvdg7gzes
Don't think this is a bug on our end. It is true that the resource portion of the URL ends with .py, but that's not unusual nor does it imply a threat. The user might want to confer with his or her systems administrators to have their intrusion detection tools reconfigured. Python scripts have been used to generate HTTP responses for many, many years.
The error message I posted is from when I tried to confirm what the GP had reported. I just tried the link and got the same error message. I wonder why this particular mailer is generating this kind of error message and not other mailers. I will generate another mailer to this GP to see if the error message will not occur this time around.
Hmm. I was able to open it without any problem. Can you try the URL again?
When I copy the link to any browser it works. The problem only occurs when I click on the link in the email (which the GP responded to). When I hover on the link in the email, the gpmailer URL appears to be preceded by a different domain. So, you are right. The link is likely being redirected by their IDS to another server which blocks the link from the gpmailer server.
