Description

Please add Excel spreadsheets as a file type that can be posted/uploaded for all users. Currently, Excel spreadsheets can be uploaded on the agenda page as meeting files, but they cannot be uploaded from the post document box or on the travel pages.

I think JIRA swallowed the comment I submitted earlier. Can you identify exactly which pages need this change? Where, for example, on the travel pages would the user upload a spreadsheet file?

On the Policies & Procedures page under the Travel tab, there are several linked documents. One of those is a form for the NIH travel system that is an excel spreadsheet.

I think I have figured out my confusion with this ticket.

... they cannot be uploaded from the post document box or on the travel pages.

As far as I can tell, no files of any type can be uploaded on the travel page editing form. That form allows the editor to link to existing files which have already been uploaded on the Post New Document page. I have modified that page (on DEV) so that Excel .xslx files can be uploaded.

If I'm still confused about what you need for this ticket, let's talk some more. 😉

I am still unable to upload excel files on DEV. I get the message, "Only files with the following extensions are allowed: pdf rtf doc docx xslx." I even tried adding the the xslx extension to the file name but it still wouldn't upload.

Sorry about that! I sometimes confuse XLS (Excel Spreadsheet) with XSL (XML Filters, a.k.a. eXtensible Style Language). I've fixed it on DEV. Please give it another shot.
