I get this error message periodically. I happened to get this message twice today while working in XMetaL, which is unusual, so I thought I would report it. The problem does seem to resolve itself once the CDR is shut down (using Task Manager) and restarted, so this isn't a high priority but more of a nuisance. The events leading up the error were similar so perhaps there is a pattern.
After working in the CDR without any problems for an hour or more, I checked out a new document and when I attempted to perform routine functions to edit the document (e.g., select and delete text using the keyboard delete or backspace buttons, use the keyboard shortcut to open the Find menu, edit the revision level of text in the attribute inspector), I could do none of them. The attribute inspector was blank - no values were displayed despite having my cursor within an insertion or deletion element. I could perform these actions using the right-click mouse menu, or navigating to the Find and Replace menu using the menus at the top, so that's what I did and I saved the document with my changes. However, when I went to close XMetaL, I received the error message. After shutting down with Task Manager and reopening XMetaL, everything worked fine.
OCECDR-3089 - This is the ticket for the same problem I reported several years ago.
I spent a good part of the day yesterday trying (unsuccessfully) to reproduce this behavior. I opened and closed the Genetics of Breast and Gynecologic Cancers summary dozens of times, launching IE for a QC report each time. I loaded up a dozen summaries at once. XMetaL didn't blink. I have reported the problem to the vendor. I'll let you know what they say.
I am running into the same error while trying to shutdown PROD right now.
~oseipokuw: Since the vendor has not offered any insight into this problem, please file a help desk ticket to see if the desktop team can do some investigation.
I am unable to reproduce this problem.
I just got this task manager message again while actively working on summary changes in XMetaL. As with before, the system started becoming finicky before I got the error message. For example, after saving a document (without checking it in), the document closed. This happened twice in a row; each time I was able to reopen the document using the DocID and continue working. However, right-click menus did not disappear after I selected something (they stacked up on my screen) and I was also unable to delete anything (i.e., a misplaced deletion tag and a duplicate insertion element)--something I can normally do just fine.
I still don't think this problem is reliably reproducible, so we don't need to reopen and re-investigate the issue, but I thought it was worth documenting that it's still happening from time to time since none of us had seen it in quite awhile when we spoke last week.
