We would like to enhance the webpage that Bob created where he posted the PowerPoint presentations from the recent Editor-In-Chief meeting such that we can share this with Board members.
A few changes:
1. The second presentation (Cancer.gov evolution) is linking to the Editorial Board Management system presentation. The Evolution file is located here: L:\OCE\OCCM\ICRDB\PDQ Editorial Boards\Editor-in-Chief meeting 2010\Final Documents for EIC Meeting 9_2010\CGOV Evolution
2. Grammar/Spelling errors are currently underlined in the presentation in red/green squiggly lines. Could these lines be removed?
3. Since the page must be fully loaded before the user can click "next" in the slide presentation, could we add a one-liner at the top of the page to say this? e.g., "Please wait for the page to fully load before attempting to scroll through the presentation." Or something to that effect.
Thanks!

All three issues have been addressed. Please take a look at http://pdqupdate.cancer.gov/boards/slides.php and let me know what you think. In addition to the obvious navigation UI above the images you can click on the right side of the slide to move forward a slide (or wrap to the beginning if you're on the last slide) and you can click on the left side of the image to move back a slide.

This looks great!
I noticed just one minor thing and then I think it's ready to be sent to Board members. When you click on the first presentation, the page is blank until the slides appear but on each of the subsequent presentation pages, you see the circle above the NIH/HHS logos, so you know it's loading. Could the same circle display when you click on the Cancer Journey presentation?

That presentation isn't coded any differently from the rest. I think it's just that you tried that one first, and by the time the "loading" spinner gif had been loaded the rest of the slides had also been loaded so you never got to see the spinner. I'll investigate possible methods of having nothing displayed until the spinner image is ready.

It's fine as is then. I thought it might just be a quick change but I don't think it's worth more effort than that. It really doesn't take that long for the slides to come up.

We do have one more tweak we'd like to make. Could you please change the title of the page from "PDQ Boards" to "PDQ 2010 Editor-In-Chief Meeting" since it's just a collection of slides from that one event.

Done. I've also added some code to the initial menu page for the presentations to load the spinner image (without showing it) so it will be cached by the browser the first time you select a set of slides to view. Could you test this by clearing your browser's cache and then following the steps to view the menu and then the first set of slides?
