We'd like meeting appointments to display the names of the members of the subgroup (rather than the subgroup name). There may be some things to discuss, such as which names would display (members when the meeting was created) and if the names would "update" if members left or joined the subgroup. Or maybe Bob already knows the answer to these based on what the calendar can do.
~vshields and ~juther will solicit preferences from the board managers. From easiest/most straightforward to hardest/less straightforward, the options are:
Store and show the group(s) as we currently do
Store the group(s), show the group members when the meeting is viewed
Store and show the group members, updating the list each time the meeting is edited and saved
A 4th option was discussed. This option would complete replace the storage of who was invited to the meeting so that both the subgroup and its membership would be stored for each invited subgroup, each time the meeting data was stored. This option was rejected as too expensive, and as unlikely (for a number of reasons) to accomplish that actual intended result, which was to capture who was actually present at the meeting.
More conferring and consulting will be done to determine which of the three original options is to be adopted. If #1 or #2 is selected, we can handle this enhancement as part of Glacier.
If #1 or #2 is selected, we can handle this enhancement as part of Glacier.
Just to clarify: that's only true if the decision is made with enough time to actually implement the selected solution before I leave for vacation at the end of the week.
We'd like to go with option #2. Can we have the name show when the mouse hovers over the group? I can't remember what you said about that at last week's meeting. Thanks.
Can we have the name show ...
Did you mean "Can we have the names show ...."? That would match what EBMS3 did (the members showed in a popup when you hovered over the group name).
Yes, I meant to say names, as in the names of the members. Sorry about that.
Implemented on DEV.
On DEV, the name of the group is no longer displaying in calendar appointments. Maybe something has broken?
Ah, just needed to clear the cache. Should be OK now.
Hi Bob, This is working well now but I'm a little surprised by some of the names that are displaying in the member list. They don't seem to be matching the current membership lists on DEV.
For example, in the Psychosocial WG meeting (Friday April 14, 2023, 12:00 - 1:30 pm), Deborah Tamura, Jennifer Hay, and Suzanne ONeill- retired - are all listed. (Note there is a second Suzanne O'Neill who is not retired and is also listed - this is correct.) None of them are listed as current members of the Psychosocial/Behavioral Issues WG on the Board Membership Report. Is there another place this list is coming from?
Oops, my bad. Forgot to filter on the member's status. Should be the right lists now.
