We'd like to consider simplifying printing options for Board members who get printed literature surveillance packets in Drupal 9 release.
Bonnie prints literature packets on an ad hoc basis. She regularly prints packets for 1 board member (approximately 3 to 4 packets every 3 months) and prints other packets as needed for other members (although this is rarely done). She prints the cover sheets, article pdfs, and summary Word documents from the EBMS.
Currently, packets cannot be sent directly to the printer. To print, Bonnie then opens the file created by the EBMS ViewPrintJob command and prints each item for the packet, then collates the paper copies.
We are currently not using some of the printing options on the PRINT PACKETS page and we don’t use any of the options on the MANAGE PRINT RECIPIENTS page. With the small number of printed packets needed, the need for managing print recipients or running reports to find print jobs is extremely low.
We think the RECORD RESPONSES page could be a good model for the updated print options process. It would be nice to also have the option to print a whole packet or select pieces.
I will experiment and see what I can come up with, based on our 2022-08-16 conversation.
The streamlined printing software has been implemented.
Verified on ebms4.
Bonnie has verified that this is working on PROD (4/12 email).
