Description

We would like to add a filter for the date a tag was added to the options on the Internal Articles page.

For "date a tag was added" are we talking about article tags (for which we have dates) or internal tags (for which we don't record a date)?

We've decided to begin adding dates to internal tags. Robin will post a spreadsheet to this ticket to add dates retroactively to the internal tags already associated with citations in the EBMS.

There isn't an easy way to generate a spreadsheet from the data but it wouldn't take long to copy/paste the PMIDs into a spreadsheet. Would a two-column spreadsheet of "PMID" and "Internal Tag Date" be enough information for you to work with?

I think that should work.

Well, after reviewing all of the internal articles and determining what a reasonable date would be for each of the internal tags, I've decided it's fine to just go with the imported date for each article as the same as the date tag added (for the existing set). I'd still like to capture a new date tag added going forward. I had expected to find several articles that were imported a long time ago but became "internal" articles (had a tag added) more recently, but that just isn't the case. Most of the tags were added very close to the time the article was imported from what I can tell. So, it's reliable enough to populate the "date tag added" field with the import date.

On the new DEV and QA servers:

  • added the new column to the ebms_internal_article_tag table

  • populated the new column

  • scripted the database changes for the deployment

  • added the new filter to the internal articles page

  • tested

Verified on DEV. Thanks!

, could you please remove the default date values for both the Import Date and the Tag Date fields on the Internal Citations page? We'll likely only use one of those sets of date fields, if any, at a time, so probably best to have them blank upon arriving at this page. Thanks.
