As I mentioned in today's meeting, we would like to get a better sense of how we have used the various comment fields that are associated with an article in the EBMS to determine if we should remove any of the fields and to also inform which fields should be displayed on reports and/or searchable on the search database page. I've listed the available comment fields I could think of, but please let me know if you come across others.
Import comments
State comments (associated with medical librarian initial review, published, abstract review, full text retrieved, full text review, board manager action, on agenda, editorial board decision)
Tag comments
Board manager comments
Board member responses
Maybe this initial analysis could just give numbers for the number of times each comment field has been used? I expect we'll want to see how they are used but maybe that would give us a better sense of where to focus. Let me know if you have other ideas - I think you understand what we're after and I don't want to ask for anything too complicated. Thanks.

Thanks, Bob. Based on this analysis, I think the first four sets of comments are what we're most interested in. Would it be possible to generate a sample set of the comments contained in those fields (maybe 100 comments of each type listed below?).

I think what I've given you is even more useful. Four sheets, one for each of those tables, with each unique normalized comment and the number of times that comment occurs, with the most frequently-occurring comments at the top.
This was very useful and helpful in putting together the requirements for the Citations by Tag report. Thank you!
