TIR #2441 entered 2013-03-06 by Robin Juthe (in Future Release status)
We would like to be able to use the documents report to obtain a list of all documents uploaded by our Board members. Right now, we have to select each Board member individually; we don't have the ability to see all documents uploaded for our Board at one time. Here's how I propose we handle this:
1. Assign a Board tag to any document uploaded by a Board member on a summaries page or within a packet.
2. Add "All Board Members" to the list of Board members in the Uploaded By drop-down list.
OR
Alternatively, we could add values to the Board member drop-down list that would include all members on each Board. For example, "All Pediatric Treatment Board Members", "All Cancer Genetics Board Members", etc.
I prefer the first option (which includes items 1&2, above), but either would work. Open to other ideas too.
Kline, Bob (NIH/NCI) [C]No presence information (3/14/2013 10:49 AM): The files users attach to packets aren't stored in the ebms_doc table, which is where the Document report looks (the table design and implementation for the review stories happened well before the reports requirements were created). The three possible approaches to picking up those files for the report would be:
1. Add a row to the ebms_doc table, duplicating information in the ebms_reviewer_doc table. Probably the least time-consuming approach, but introduces undesirable denormalization of the data.
2. Modify the ebms_reviewer_doc table to factor out information that the ebms_doc table would hold, and use both tables, with ebms_reviewer_doc pointing to ebms_doc, and ebms_doc pointing to the file_managed table (instead of having ebms_reviewer_doc link directly to the file_managed table). This is the cleanest approach.
3. Modify the document query to look in two different places. Not sure what the level of effort to do this would be, or what technical obstacles would be encountered.
I recommend the second approach. There won't be time to implement any of the three before the launch.
Juthe, Robin (NIH/NCI) [E]No presence information (3/14/2013 8:51
AM): I uploaded two different documents as Amanda Toland, and I only see
the one (archived) doc, named "Biesecker Bio.doc". I uploaded another
document named "Genetics of Skin Cancer for WG 3_8_13 from Larry" to a
packet. It displays on the reviewed packet page (https://ebms-qa.nci.nih.gov/review/reviews/12770)
but it does not display in the report.
Kline, Bob (NIH/NCI) [C]No presence information (3/13/2013 10:12 PM):
You don't see the summary Amanda uploaded because someone marked it as
"archived." If you check the box to show archived documents in the
report, you'll see it.
Juthe, Robin (NIH/NCI) [E]No presence information (3/13/2013 6:32 PM):
Documents uploaded by Board members within a packet are not displaying
when the report is run for all docs uploaded by members of a particular
board. for example, on QA, I do not see the summary uploaded by Amanda
Toland when I run the report for all documents uploaded by Cancer
Genetics Board members.

Done; ready for testing on QA.
Kline, Bob (NIH/NCI) [C]No presence information (3/7/2013 3:10 PM):
Robin will come up with the string which should be used at the top of a
third picklist for "UPLOADED BY" and I will add that new field to the
form. The filter will look for documents uploaded by a user connected
with the selected board and with the role "board member."
Juthe, Robin (NIH/NCI) [E]No presence information (3/6/2013 4:48

This has been fixed.
