We ran into a problem having the ability to view all in the medical librarian queue. Should we remove that option? Or add a pop-up message to ask if you REALLY want to view all (maybe with a suggestion that if the results are more than 1,000[?] you shouldn't do this...)? We should discuss how best to handle this and which other pages are affected by whatever change we decide to implement.
The "VIEW ALL" option has been eliminated: it causes the server to run out of memory.
You have removed View ALL as an option in the Display Options section, but it is still available on the Queue pages (and I guess the Search the Database results pages as well). And it still crashes the page if there are too many citations. I suggest setting a max to the number that can be displayed when View All is clicked so that it will not crash the page. View All is a nice feature and I think most people know that clicking View All with 3K citation is probably not a good idea. But they may not know if it will work with 500 or maybe 700 or maybe 1000.
Good catch! I had tried to remove the VIEW ALL option from everywhere on the review queue page, but I had forgotten that the code to display the link was tucked away in a theme file, not the normal source code. I did bump up the maximum to 100 for the number you can display at once on that page. The fact that you can filter the queue (not sure why Ashleigh called filtering "sorting" on that form) helps you to zero in on the articles you want to work on next. We still have the VIEW ALL option on the search page, where the software has much less process-intensive work to do, and where we haven't (yet) had – as far as I know – any crashes displaying all of the results of a search.
