We'd like to add the ability to search for the first author or last author listed on a citation. Perhaps we could do this by adding check boxes beneath the AUTHOR field for FIRST AUTHOR and LAST AUTHOR. The default would be to have these options blank, but either could be checked (but not both).

Implemented on DEV. Just out of curiosity - what's the benefit of searching by the last author?
This seems to be working correctly.
Although the order that the authors appear is not standardized, often it
is a ranking of contribution or senority. The last author is often the
principal investigator.
Verified on QA.
