XMetal 17 appears not to be displaying merged fields in tables correctly. However, they are rendered correctly in QC reports and Pub Preview.
Repro Steps:
Retrieve CDR0000062932 on XMetal 17 QA on the VM.
Take a look at the first table "Definitions of Primary Tumor (T) for Lung Cancer".
Note that it displays 3 columns with text in the third column starting at about a third down the column.
Run pub preview for the same summary.
Note that the table does not display a third column and the text (that was displaying in the third column is now in the second column and correctly aligned with the other text in the column.
Also, the footnotes do not span the columns.
QC reports also render the table correctly just as pub preview. You may proceed further to compare the table in the same summary on PROD, which renders it correctly.
Could you provide a screenshot of the same table displayed by XMetaL 9 (from STAGE or PROD)?
I have reported the problem to the vendor.
BTW: one of the image links in the issue description is broken.
The broken link is the pub preview image. Jira allows me to add two images at the same time but does not display the second image in the ticket window, so I removed it and added it individually. No image is missing.
I fixed the link.
The last table in CDR62891 shows similar "funkyness":
Good:
Bad:
Here is a fairly simple table (first table in CDR62907): Header, 3 rows, footer.
XMetaL 9
XMetaL 17
Here is one more thing (don't know if that's already mentioned somewhere): The "align=center" isn't honored in the XM 17 display.
CDR62900:
I tracked down the culprit to a method we've been calling in exactly the same way for over 20 years. I gave the vendor a repro file with a half-dozen lines of code which should let them see the table mangling we're seeing.
I copied both of you on my latest reply. ~volker, please add a new reply to that email thread to mention the problem with the centering not being honored.
We got a build from the vendor which appears to correct the table display problem. Installed on the testing server. Please verify.
Good catch, ~oseipokuw.
Just wanted to confirm that the issue of the text alignment attribute not being honored within table cells has been resolved as well with this new executable.

Please test and let us know what you find.
Yes, the tables are displaying as expected now. Thanks
Yes, that is also working as expected. Thanks!
Verified on QA.
Verified on PROD. Thanks!
