One of our active partners is transferring his task of updating PDQ data and had asked if we had a How-to document available on how to setup FileZilla.
I thought it would be a useful document to have for other potential partners as well.
I created a Word document as well as a PDF copy for setting up FileZilla to connect to our FTP server:
How-to-Setup-Filezilla.docx
https://github.com/NCIOCPL/cdr-publishing/commit/87a425a
How-to-Setup-Filezilla.pdf
https://github.com/NCIOCPL/cdr-publishing/commit/d307a97
The ticket isn't release dependent and I already copied the files to the FTP server but added the files to the Ohm repository so I'll move this ticket to Ohm.
Hi ~volker Volker, can you post the files directly in the ticket? I was not able to download it from GitHub perhaps due to permissions issues.
Are you able to access other links on GitHub? Since this is a binary file GitHub doesn't display it automatically. At least for the PDF version you should be able to preview the document directly on GitHub.
I am able to access files like DTD that open within GitHub but I am not able to download any files or have the file open in a new window.
That's because those are TXT files. Other file types can only open based on your browser's add-ons. I was able to preview the PDF file once I clicked the Preview button.
However, I have to admit I wasn't able to download the file from the browser myself. I'll have to look how one would achieve downloading a file. Anyway, this is not a permissions issue and I have attached the PDF version to this ticket now.
When you follow the link to the *.PDF file, click the three dots on the right displayed on the same line as the PDF filename. Select the option "View file" and the PDF document will be displayed in the browser.
Where you mention triangle, I suspect you meant rectangle? or you meant the down arrow?
Also, where you mention to enter "PDQ Download", I think it will be good to include a screenshot because I struggled a bit to do it especially because the new site wasn't highlighted for me to change it to the "PDQ Download" name.
Other than these comments, everything looks good and clear.
You're right, the "triangle" was a bad choice of words. I've changed it to "click the drop-down menu button".
I also added another screenshot which hopefully makes it clear on how to create a new site and change its name.
The change has been pushed to github:
Looks good. Thanks!
