Description

When a media document is cloned by translators, the cloned documents come with the label name, caption and content description set to “en”. Translators have to manually change all the attributes to "es" and there could be a lot of labels for a media doc, for example. Would it be possible to set these attributes to "es" upon cloning?

How do you clone a document?  Is that a function in XMetaL or the admin interface?

It is a function in XMetal. You just click on the "C" icon (please see attached) and the document is cloned.

Is it correct that you only want to change the language attribute without making any changes to the English text at all?

That is correct. The English text is need to complete the translation.

I seem to have problems updating the macro that is used to clone the document.  I will need to talk to to continue with this ticket.

The macro file has been modified to update the LabelName elements but I'm now re-reading your description.
Are the MediaCaption and ContentDescription the only other two elements that need to be updated?

Assuming that you meant what you said I've updated the macro file to include the two elements MediaCaption and ContentDescription in addition to the already modified LabelName for updating the language attribute.

The following file has been updated:

  • Cdr.mcr
    [cdr4600-clone-media 0a210b2] and [cdr4600-clone-media 51779e33]

This is ready for review on DEV.

I was not able to verify these changes. When I close a document like CDR0000791030, the LableName, MediaCaption and ContentDescription still show the "en" attribute for all of them instead of the "es" attribute.

The macro file including these changes has been restored on DEV.
