Description

We currently are able to attach only one file to summary documents in the Translation Workflow queue. We would like to know if if it would be possible to modify the software and the interface to attach multiple files?

Possible, but harder and more expensive than if we'd done it that way from the start. That's why I asked that question back at the beginning. 🙂

Implemented on DEV.

This is working correctly on DEV. The following features would be good to have:
1. To see the attached files prior to submitting.
2. Ability to attach one file after the other (in addition to holding down ctrl or shift key and selecting multiple files).

Please let me know if these can be done in this release or a future release.

Has the notification for the translation Workflow been turned off? We are not getting notifications when attaching files.

Remember, there are some conditions controlling when notifications are sent out:

  • the assignor is not the same person as the assignee

  • either the state or the assignee has changed

Are these conditions met when you're testing?

Yes. I have started to see the emails now but I did attach a document for Linda which never got sent. It seems to be working now.

The Edit Translation Job page is no longer displaying the CDR ID and the board information in the title bar. Please see attached screenshot.

I've added back the Spanish ID and title (when available) but it doesn't look as if the board was ever displayed.

Thanks! The board information is not part of the display.  This works now.

Verified on QA. Thanks!

It looks like the order the of the information on the title page has changed from what is on prod. Could you please display the information exactly as it is on PROD? I am attaching two screenshots. The first one is from PROD and the second one is from QA. You can also identify each of them from the URL and filenames.

I may not be understanding correctly what you're trying to say. As far as I can tell, the order of the information is the same:

  • the title of the original summary

  • the label "Spanish summary: "

  • the CDR ID for the translated summary

  • the title of the translated summary

The difference is that the page appearing on the QA server follows the pattern of all of the other pages on the CDR Admin site, with the title of the site (CDR Administration) appearing as the main banner, and the information pertaining to this specific report displayed underneath that main banner. The version on PROD, by contrast, breaks that standard pattern and replaces the site title with the title of the original summary. We could hack the code for this page to force it to diverge from the standard pattern we use for the CDR Admin site's pages, but I don't know why you'd want to do that.

Thanks for the explanation. I will explain this to users and if they don't want the new presentation, I will put in a ticket for modification in Maxwell.

Sounds good. The more consistent the system is, the easier it will be to use, to learn, to maintain, to track down and fix bugs, and to enhance.

If the opportunity to post multiple files is rare, perhaps this ticket should be closed, and if new problems arise which were not apparent when this was tested on QA a new ticket could be opened.

We have not been able to test this ticket on PROD for multiple files yet but I have not reason to believe that it will not work. I am closing this ticket. Thanks!
