Description

For years and years I am getting questions from new licensees if we would be willing to share our XSLT templates for processing summaries.

Given that we now have a reasonably complete conversion tool (the summaries PP prototype) I wanted to discuss if we want to add this to our package as part of the licensee documentation.

I've forwarded the XSLT and the HTML output to one of our partners as the first guinea pig. Once I'll have some feedback I'll prepare and upload files and documentation to the FTP server.

Update documentation that we have (unsupported) sample transform.

estimate: 2 points

I've created the file show-PDQ-summary.py which reads a PDQ Summary document (PDQ-summary.xml) and transforms it using the stylesheet PDQ-summary.xsl to display HTML output. The following three files will be available to the PDQ partners on the FTP server as part of the documentation:

  • PDQ-summary.xml

  • PDQ-summary.xsl

  • PDQ-summary.html

, I'm not sure where to put the Python script. It would belong in our cdr-cgi/cdr directory but I could also see it as part of the DevTools directory which would need to be copied to the cgi-bin directory when we need to use it.

If it's a CGI script, it belongs in cdr-cgi/cdr. If it's not a CGI script, put it in DevTools/Utilities. It sounds like the sort of thing you'd want to be able to use from your web browser.

If it's a CGI script, it belongs in cdr-cgi/cdr.

I agree but I could see an argument indicating because this script will never be used on the PROD server it doesn't belong there.

I'll add it to the cdr-cgi/cdr directory.

The following files have been added to subversion in the directory Publishing/prod/docs:

  • R13807: PDQ-summary.html

  • R13807: PDQ-summary.xml

  • R13807: PDQ-summary.xsl

  • R13808: show-PDQ-summary.py

The new files are available for our partners on the FTP server as part of the documentation directory docs.

Closing ticket.
