I am posting below, email conversation I had with Volker with regards to possible filter changes for new Spanish CAM Patient and HP summaries:
.................
Hi William,
• Medicina complementaria y alternativa, CDR 766007 (About PDQ CAM CDR 445621)- NEW Misc. doc
Currently there doesn't exist a ‘About PDQ CAM’ misc doc, so this requires a filter change.
• Preguntas para su proveedor de atención de la salud sobre medicina complementaria y alternativa, CDR 766008 (Questions to ask your health care provider about CAM, CDR 445622)-NEW Misc. Doc.
Currently, the EN version uses CDR445622 while the ES version uses CDR446986. If you need to use a different document ID this does require a filter change.
• Información adicional, CDR 446984 (To Learn More, CDR 445623) – EXISTING Misc. Doc, extensively revised
There is no filter change necessary when the same document is being used unless the document structure changes.
Thanks,
Volker

From what I understand, that is what I understand. I will create a
Jira ticket soon so that you can take a look. I just wanted to be sure
you need to make a filter change before creating the issue.
Thanks,
William

I’m not sure why I would need to change a filter but if I do such a change needs to be submitted as a JIRA ticket.
Is this the first time we’re translating CAM summaries?
Thanks,
Volker

Subject: Spanish CAM summaries
Hi Volker,
Linda is about to publish a couple of CAM HP and Patient summaries. This
appears to be the first time she doing this, so I assume that you need
to make changes to the filters to use new Misc. docs that she has
created, right? Here are the two new Misc. docs and an existing one that
has been revised.
• Medicina complementaria y alternativa, CDR 766007 (About PDQ CAM
CDR 445621)- NEW Misc. doc
• Preguntas para su proveedor de atención de la salud sobre medicina
complementaria y alternativa, CDR 766008 (Questions to ask your health
care provider about CAM, CDR 445622)-NEW Misc. Doc.
• Información adicional, CDR 446984 (To Learn More, CDR 445623) –
EXISTING Misc. Doc, extensively revised
Also, in one of the Misc. docs, it doesn’t have a DocType for Spanish
summaries so I assume, I need to put in a ticket so that Bob can add it
in, right?
Thanks,
William
Do we have these new misc. documents available on DEV, QA, and STAGE?
For the documents that are new we'll have to remember to change the document CDR-ID that is hard coded for the documents before we move the filters to PROD. The CDR-IDs for these documents will not be the same on different tiers.
Do we have these new
misc. documents
available on DEV, QA,
and STAGE?
We currently have them on PROD. We will copy the changes to the lower tiers for testing.
The following Misc. Docs have been created/updated on DEV for testing:
759356 About CAM – New Misc. doc
759355 Questions to ask your health care provider – New Misc. doc
446985 To Learn More about CAM – Comprehensively revised
On PROD:
Why are we creating a new document (CDR766008) rather than
using/updating the existing one (CDR446986)?
446985 To Learn More about CAM – Comprehensively revised
Did you mean CDR446985? The CDR-ID for this document on PROD is
CDR446984.
On DEV I actually see two different documents for To Learn More
about CAM, one with CDR446984 and one with CDR446985. The filter is
currently using CDR446984.
On PROD: Why are we creating a new document (CDR766008) rather than using/updating the existing one (CDR446986)?
Since there is an existing document, let's use that one instead of the new one. Sorry!

Please use CDR446984. We'll update it accordingly. Thanks!
William, I'm confused. I'm trying to test the changes and I'm looking
for a test document. I'm looking at two patient CAM summaries but those
have completely different misc. sections added.
The sections after the Changes to This Summary section for
Pain are:
About This PDQ Summary
Questions or Comments About This Summary
Get More information from NCI
The sections after the Changes to This Summary section for Acupuncture are:
About this PDQ Summary
General CAM Information
Questions to Ask your Health Care Provider about CAM
To Learn More about CAM
These later sections are the sections I can find in the misc. documents.
What summaries could I use to test with?
What summaries could I use to test with?
You may use CDR0000759366 and CDR0000759367 on DEV
I'm unable to run the vendor filter for these documents because the
links to the document 765469 (pregunta 1-9) don't exist.
Which document should these links point to?
The link problem has been fixed. Please try again.
I have updated the filter but I'm not very confident on testing this
for several reasons:
a) I don't know Spanish
b) I don't know which of the CAM summaries should receive which of the
misc. docs
c) I'm not sure if all of the misc. docs on DEV have already been
updated.
Please check out the result and let me know if I missed anything.
You will note that the HTML returned using PublishPreview already follows the new WCMS release which is a little different from that you will see on PROD.
Here are Linda's findings. I think the issue with the HP summary is because we are currently testing on DEV. Once we move to Production or the Summary is published, it should be fine:
Patient summary
The text under the Información sobre este sumario title (About This PDQ Summary) is missing.
HP Summary:
Información sobre este sumario (About this PDQ Summary) section at the end of the summary.
The text under Reviewer and Updates in this section, the link to the PDQ Cancer Complementary and Alternative Medicine Editorial Board page is not showing. This link should go to a page we translated and Mauricio was going to get created.
Which summary did Linda review? Was it the Spanish Acupuncture summary?
She reviewed two summaries CDR0000759366 (Patient) and CDR0000759367 (HP).
Patient summary
The text under the Información sobre este sumario title (About This PDQ Summary) is missing.
You're saying the text is missing. However, the misc. doc is listed with an audience of HP. Is the problem that the text is missing or that the section is displayed at all?
For my information: The document included is CDR684064 (Información sobre este sumario del PDQ).
I think the issue with the HP summary is because we are currently testing on DEV.
I don't think that's the problem.
The HP version is attaching the content of CDR684064 and this file
appears to be identical on both, DEV and PROD.
What's the CDR-ID of the document that Linda has updated on PROD?
The titles of the misc. documents are all very similar that's why I rather refer to CDR-IDs for these and having the titles in Spanish doesn't make it easier. :-)
You're saying the text is missing. However, the misc. doc is listed with an audience of HP. Is the problem that the text is missing or that the section is displayed at all?
Below is Linda's response. Also, she said the Misc doc for the Patient summary is CDR0000751604.
I checked the Misc. doc for the patient summaries, Información sobre este sumario del PDQ, CDR id 751604, and it contains all the text.
When I checked the Acupuntura patient summary in Pub Prev, only the title is showing.
It shows like this:
Información sobre este sumario del PDQ
Información general sobre medicina complementaria y alternativa
There should be text after the first title.
Thank you,
Linda
The HP version is attaching the content of CDR684064 and this file appears to be identical on both, DEV and PROD.
What's the CDR-ID of the document that Linda has updated on PROD?
765468 That is the CDR ID of the HP on PROD.
Currently The BoardNamelink to the PDQ CAM board page, BoardName and the LOElink to the Levels of Spanish summary are not showing on DEV.
I'm just wondering why the type of the summary sections are different
for HP and patient.
The HP version (CDR684064) has a type of For more information -
Health professional summary while the patient version (CDR751604)
has a type of Get more information from NCI - Patient
summary.
Shouldn't the type be the same?
765468 That is the CDR ID of the HP on PROD.
Sorry, I don't need the CDR-ID of the summaries. I'm only interested
in the misc. documents at this point because I have the feeling Linda
may have updated the wrong document.
You're saying the summary is CDR765468. This is a HP summary. The file
that Linda updated is CDR751604. This document is marked for patient
audience. That's probably the reason why the section is empty. A misc.
doc for patients will never be attached to an HP summary.
Let me double-check these documents again on Monday for the CDR-IDs on DEV.
I'm just wondering why the type of the summary sections are different for HP and patient.
The HP version (CDR684064) has a type of For more information - Health professional summary while the patient version (CDR751604) has a type of Get more information from NCI - Patient summary.
Shouldn't the type be the same?
Response from Linda:
I am not sure. I went to the English patient and HP versions and the
doc. types are the same as the Spanish.
I don't know who decided on the document types. Judy may know but she is
on vacation.
I'm only interested in the misc. documents at this point because I have the feeling Linda may have updated the wrong document.
This is the misc doc for Patient summaries -751604. It is an existing Misc. Doc that she didn't need to update.
I have attached a screenshot from DEV displaying the portion of the summary with missing misc. doc information. Basically, the misc doc info. isn't showing at all under the highlighted section.
I have attached a screenshot from DEV displaying the portion of the summary with missing misc. doc information.
I really don't know what the problem was but the problem of the
missing section seems to be working now.
Maybe I had forgotten to save the latest changes in the CDR and you were
still running an older version of the filter.
The text under Reviewer and Updates in this section, the link to the PDQ Cancer Complementary and Alternative Medicine Editorial Board page is not showing. This link should go to a page we translated and Mauricio was going to get created.
The link depends on the existence of a board but a board doesn't
exist for Spanish summaries. The board name is also missing in the
section Grados de comprobación científica.
What should be displayed for the board name and what is the URL for the
BoardNameLink to be created?
What should be displayed for the board name ?
The board should be the "PDQ Complementary and Alternative Medicine Editorial Board"
and what is the URL for the BoardNameLink to be created?
Here is the URL http://www.cancer.gov/cancertopics/pdq/cancer-cam-board
It appears that the filter is picking up the board name translation content from the board's organization document. Even if you enter the name in English the information should come from the BoardNameTranslation element.
Should it be okay now or we need to enter the name in the Translation element ?
The translation element doesn't exist currently for the CAM board.
That's why the link and the board name are not displayed.
Let me know if you want me to make the change on DEV but you will have
to do in on PROD for the filter changes to work correctly.
Here is the URL http://www.cancer.gov/cancertopics/pdq/cancer-cam-board
Shouldn't the URL contain an espanol in there somewhere? I thought it should be
://www.cancer.gov/espanol/pdq/cancer-cam-board http
I've added the translated board name (some test string) and it looks
to me that all the information is now showing up on the PP report.
Please take another look and let me know if the URL to the CAM board
page needs to be modified.
Looks like the URL should rather be:
www.cancer.gov/espanol/pdq/medicina-complementaria-alternativa-consejo-editorial
The URL has been updated on DEV.
The URL appears to be working well. Could you make the anchor/link text "Consejo Editorial del PDQ® de Medicina Complementaria y Alternativa" ?
For the HP summary, the link to the level of evidence summary (759385) is not being created. I have attached a screenshot of HP summary 759367 showing where the link should go. The anchor/link text is "sistema formal de jerarquización de la medicina factual" as highlighted in the attached screenshot.
Increased the priority.
Could you make the anchor/link text "Consejo Editorial del PDQ® de Medicina Complementaria y Alternativa"?
The text displayed is controlled via the element BoardNameTranslation in the board's organization document.
For the HP summary, the link to the level of evidence summary (759385) is not being created.
The missing link has been fixed.
This is ready for review on DEV.
The text displayed is controlled via the element BoardNameTranslation in the board's organization document.
Done. Thanks!
Verified on DEV. Please proceed to the next steps.
The following filters have been updated in subversion:
R13001: CDR335424.xml - Denormalization Filter: Summary
R13001: CDR000157.xml - Vendor Filter: Summary
QC reports to run the diffs have been started.
William, it appears that the Levels of Evidence Spanish translation as well as the various misc. documents will need to exist on QA before we can run a successful publishing job.
The good news is that the filter changes did not break any other summary types.
Please let me know when the Spanish version of the LOE has been created on QA and I can rerun the diff reports.
Please let me know when the Spanish version of the LOE has been created on QA and I can rerun the diff reports.
Sure. I copied all the files from DEV to QA earlier this morning but Linda has not had the time to review them. I will let you know as soon as she reviews them.
The documents are ready on QA. Thanks!
The documents have been processed on QA and are ready for preview:
Patient
http://www-dt.qa.cancer.gov/espanol/pdq/medicina-complementaria-alternativa/acupuntura/patient
It appears the problem reported off-line - the link under the “Grados
de comprobacion cientifica” does not work - was a combination of a data
problem and a filter problem. The problem also existed on DEV but wasn't
noticed because we didn't publish to Cancer.gov on DEV.
The updated filter expected a URL to the LOE Summary of
http://cancer.gov/...
but the URL for the Spanish LOE Summary was listed as
http://www.cancer.gov/...
The filter has been changed to accept both versions for the Spanish summaries just like for the English summaries.
The following filter has been updated in subversion:
R13045: CDR000157.xml - Vendor Filter: Summary
Unfortunately, the QA Gatekeeper server is currently down and I'm unable to reprocess the summary and push to Cancer.gov.
Hi Volker,
I am checking to see if the the issue with the QA Gatekeeper server has
been resolved?
Thanks,
William
It's my first day at work since my last comment and I don't have the answer yet but you would probably want to review the change on DEV first as the problem already existed there.
The link appears to work fine on DEV.
I haven't been able to publish the document but the PP report works and is properly linking.
I ran a diff report on QA. Everything looks good and the filter changes did not break anything.
Would you like to wait until we're able to publish the test summary to QA or would you like to go ahead and put this in production?
I think we can go ahead to put it into production.
OK, please make sure all the misc. documents are ready on PROD.
All documents are ready on PROD.
I've noticed that the documents CDR446984 (Informacion adicional - To
learn more - CAM patient summary) are slightly different on DEV and on
PROD.
Hope that's OK.
The following filters have been (modified to adjust for the CDR-ID on PROD and) copied to PROD:
R13001: CDR335424.xml - Denormalization Filter: Summary
R13059: CDR000157.xml - Vendor Filter: Summary
The Patient version is producing the following error in PP:
CDRPreview web service error: Xml data validation error,The 'Err' element is not declared.Validation error occurred when validating the instance document.,6,3
I was afraid of that! The fact that the misc. documents on the different tiers are having different numbers isn't very helpful and since I don't understand Spanish it doesn't make it easier.
The filter is trying to access CDR766007, which is blocked on PROD. Should this be replaced with CDR446985? We used CDR759356 on DEV.
The links to the Levels of evidence summary and to the misc doc for the HP version aren't working.
It should be using CDR446985 instead of 766007 and instead of 766008 it should use CDR446986
The links to the Levels of evidence summary and to the misc doc for the HP version aren't working.
I think I've tried all the links in the misc. sections after the Changes section for the Acupuntura - HP summary and they all work. Which links are you referring to?
I've replaced the misc. document that's blocked on PROD with CDR446985. The PP report for the patient summary now works.
The following text should be links in the HP version but they are
not:
"Información sobre este sumario del PDQ "
and
"sistema formal de jerarquización de la medicina factual"
So, the links are not created at all.
This was working on DEV, wasn't it? My guess is that the link is
being created but stripped since the document (the link target) doesn't
exist.
I believe once you make the Acupuntura summary publishable the link will
appear.
I've replaced the misc. document that's blocked on PROD with CDR446985. The PP report for the patient summary now works.
PP came up for the Patient version and everything looks good. Thanks!
One of the links works now after the summary was made publishable. However, this one "Información sobre este sumario del PDQ" (Misc. doc 684064) is still missing.
Which document did you make publishable? The document CDR765468 (Acupuntura - HP) is not publishable and that's preventing the link to appear.
The document is publishable now and all the links are working. Thank you!!.
I will wait for the summaries to be published to Cancer.gov before closing this issue.
The first two summaries published to cancer.gov but there are two links that aren't working in one of the summaries. Volker reported this to the GK team to look into it.
Verified on PROD.
