When the table row separator is set to zero within a table, a broken line is created. This normally means that the line will not be displayed in pub preview and Cancer.gov. But what we have just noticed is that this feature is not working as it should. The lines are displaying as solid lines just like all other solid lines within tables. This is possibly an effect of the migration since I can't confirm that it's worked after the production server was made available and it appears that existing tables have same problem.
Here are some sample documents with tables that have the problem I have described above:
Summary CDR ID 700000 (Childhood HCT)
Table titles:
-Chronic Graft-versus-Host Disease (GVHD) Symptoms in the Skin, Nails,
Scalp, and Body Hair
-Chronic Graft-versus-Host Disease (GVHD) Symptoms in the Mouth and GI
Tract
-Causes of Gastrointestinal, Hepatobiliary, and Pancreatic Problems in
Long-Term Transplant Survivors (Note: This summary has not been made
publishable.)
Summary CDR ID 62932 (NSCLC)

I have looked at the vendor output which does include an attribute for the cell display element to suppress the display of the cell row.
<entry RowSep="0">...</entry>
Typically if the RowSep attribute doesn't exist the row line will display, but if it exists with a value of 0 it will be suppressed. It doesn't appear that Cancer.gov is actually using this attribute at all because there is no indication in the HTML rendered page or the CSS of anything indicating the display of individual row lines.
My guess would be that this has never worked.
Please also note that the issue OCECDR-2832 is addressing the display of table frames and grid lines. The implementation of these was never complete.
I think this is an issue that will need to be addressed at the WCMS end but it's possible that changes at the WCMS end will trigger changes to the vendor output for tables.
The ability to suppress the display of individual row or column lines within tables is not fully implemented on Cancer.gov. A project is currently underway to unify CSS classes across the Cancer.gov site including the display of tables. This change will likely give us more flexibility in the table presentation on Cancer.gov.
I'm putting this issue on hold while we're waiting for the Cancer.gov evolution changes to be completed.
William, are there still tables on DEV where I could look at this?
The creative team has argued that tables created as suggested
(suppressing individual cell grid lines for display purposes) will cause
problems in terms of making the tables 508 compliant.
There are no plans to allow this behavior in the new version of
Cancer.gov (NVCG).
