As discussed on Thursday, we would like to publish the terms for the NCI Dictionary of Genetics Terms directly from the CDR to Cancer.gov. Currently, the terms are added manually to the dictionary pages on Cancer.gov (http://www.cancer.gov/cancertopics/genetics-terms-alphalist/all), and the terms in the CDR are used for adding glossary links in Genetics summaries. Thus, the process requires maintenance of the terms and definitions in two separate places.
The terms in the CDR are all labeled with the values Dictionary=Genetics and Audience=Health Professional, and they are being pushed with regular publishing jobs, so I believe this is a Gatekeeper/Cancer.gov issue.
Priority is P6 for now.

This is scheduled to be in Release 6.5 and we have a meeting today to start talking about requirements. I am not sure that there will really be any CDR work involved, but I will leave the issue open for now.

The Genetics Glossary data on the Cancer.gov website contains NCI
Thesaurus links that are currently not part of the Glossary vendor
output.
We will need to change the vendor filters to include this data element
as part of the RelatedInformation.

This is more of an FYI than a question.
The RelatedInformation for the Glossary data is related to the Glossary
document itself and not to a particular definition. This means that the
NCI Thesaurus link that we're adding for the Genetics Dictionary will in
the end also be displayed for the patient dictionary.
If this is not what we want we may need to make changes to the DTD to
allow Cancer.gov to make a decision of which link should be displayed
for which dictionary.

The NCIThesaurusID element is part of the GlossaryConcept document.
Are we going to have CIAT add a link RelatedExternalLink in the CDR document based on that element or do we want the filter to create this link in the vendor output?

Margaret and I just discussed this and we would like to ignore the NCI T links for now (meaning we will not display on Cancer.gov). We do not want them to display in the patient terms and they do not add that much to the HP terms so we are fine with leaving them out for now.

The Genetics Dictionary is currently available for review at
http://wwwca.cancer.gov/geneticsdictionary
FYI:
It appears there isn't a menu entry available yet to link to the
dictionary.
I'm marking this issue as fixed since it's only a matter of time before it's on Cancer.gov now.

The Genetics Dictionary is now on Cancer.gov. Looks like this issue could get closed now.
(Remember the date! In 10 years we'll have to celebrate.)
