Lakshmi asked me to request a report for Mauricio, who would like to do some very preliminary testing of alignment using glossary terms. We need an Excel spreadsheet with 2 worksheets, one for English and one for Spanish. The cells need to line up between the two. So, the term in cell 1 in English corresponds to the term in block 1 in Spanish. He would like 10-20 glossary terms and denormalized definitions.

It looks good except that I noticed for two of the terms (in both Eng. and Span.) that the Scientific Name tags are still showing in the definitions: doxorubicin and blessed thistle. Also, the defn. for GIST is formatted oddly.

I have attached a version of the spreadsheet which strips those tags out (didn't realize that was a requirement).

That's an artificial side effect of the way Excel displays multi-line values on a single line. The replacement report has wrapping turned on so all of the whitespace appears as the users entered it.

I guess I thought denormalized meant that all of the tags would not be showing, but now I think I understand.
And I did set the column to wrap for the definitions, and that one definition still had white space inserted (for example, the first A was on a separate line). It still does even in the new report. I don't think it matters, but I was wondering why it was different.
I will let Lakshmi know this report is finished. Thanks.

Right; if you think about the published documents – those are denormalized, but markup is not stripped.

That's how the user entered the definition.

The report looks fine and I have sent it to Mauricio so I am closing this issue.
