Tags may be added to a citation record at the overall citation level or at an individual topic level. Certain tags may not be added at the overall citation level but all tags can be added at the topic level (I think I got that right - please correct me if not!). We'd like to reevaluate this and determine which tags should be available:
-at the citation level only
-at the topic level only
-at either the citation level or the topic level
The new software has been implemented to support the three types of tags. Now what we need is the list of which tags should received which types.
~juther - do you have the list? Preliminary PDF is already resolved as unassignable by topic (the system can't store different PDFs for individual topics).
~boggessc - this is the ticket for the issue we discussed last week.
I have made a list and provided my input. Robin and Victoria will need to add their input because several of the tags are only used by BMs.tag_list.xlsx
Also, I generated the list of tags from the pick list on the article search page so I assume that is the complete list.
Thanks. Your list is complete. Also, just as an FYI, we wouldn't delete any tags, we'd just mark as inactive any we no longer want to be available for assignment.
ok good to know
I'm attaching a file with comments from Victoria and me on which tags should be available at the citation vs. topic level, and a few that I think we could inactivate. (Our revisions are in red) tag_list_RJ.xlsx
Just wanted to confirm that we do want to change the "topic required" flag for "Comment for Library" from "Y" to "N" — the original requirements for that tag had "Y" and there are no tag assignments for that tag without a topic. Easy to change, but I just wanted to make sure it was intentional switch from that original decision.
Yes, I would like this tag to be available at the citation and topic level. Most of the time it will be assigned at the topic level. But I wanted this tag to be available for the internal articles that are imported without board or topic. Currently we run a quarterly search for just one of those internal topics but in the future, I would like to have additional searches in place and the Comment for Librarian tag will provide a means for the BMs to give use feedback on specific citations.
I just realized that we are referring to the Internal Article topics as Tags. For the sake of user clarity, should we consider a different name for these topics?
That's a discussion you'll want to have with Robin (the source of the original requirements for that feature) and Victoria (in a separate ticket).
Implemented and installed on both servers.
Bob, can we delete/inactivate the "legacy conversion note" and "questionable search" tags. Those are not tags that we actively use.
Verified on ebms4.
