We have a few different sequences for lists of tags in the system (e.g., on the full citation page, search database page, from our queue pages, etc.). Let's consider establishing some rules to make these lists consistent.
LOE to be assigned when the rules have been decided.
Do you have any thoughts, ~vshields ?
Can we just make the tag lists alphabetical? They are currently not alphabetical on the full citation page, the board manager queue pages, and on the Article By Tag report. Thanks.
That's what I'll do.
I have implemented (but not yet deployed) the sorting of the tags for the report and the review queue. I want to confirm that you want the tags sorted alphabetically on the article's full history page, where the tags are currently listed in the order in which they were assigned historically.
I would prefer that the tag information displayed on the Full Article History page continue to be displayed by date as this page is designed to reflect the complete history of the citation.
Hold up...is this ticket addressing the sorting of the tags in pick lists or how tag information is being displayed for a citation?
I agree with Victoria that the tags should be sorted alphabetically in the pick lists but tag information displayed for any given citation should be by date assigned.
This ticket references both (picklists and historical). I've done the work to change the software for the picklist ordering, but I'm checking on the history page, which currently lists them historically. We agree on that page, so we're waiting for Victoria to weigh in.
This request was just intended for the picklists. Robin and I agree that we don't want to change the historical order.
Installed for review on https://ebms.rksystems.com. After the changes have been verified on that server they will be added to the set of modifications which will be scheduled for deployment to https://ebms4-dev.nci.nih.gov where UAT is being performed, after consulting with Victoria and Robin to work out the least disruptive time for that deployment.
Looks good to me on rks. From all of the librarian viewpoints, I am seeing alphabetical sorting of tags.
spoke too soon on this one...
From the full article history page, "Add a Tag" pick lists (both citation and topic adds) are not yet in alphabetical order.
Please give it another try.
Looks good.
Verified on ebms4.
