We would like to begin using the Core Journals checkboxes on the search the database form to allow us to limit the results to only those citations published in the following list of "core" (often cited in PDQ) journals:
1.New England Journal of Medicine
2.JAMA
3.J Clin Oncology
4.JNCI
5.Nature Genetics
6.Lancet
7.Lancet Oncol
8.Ann Intern Med
9.Intl J Rad Onc Bio Phys
10.Blood
11.Pediatric, Blood, & Cancer
12.Cancer
13.BMJ
The default search setting should NOT apply this limitation, but we would select the "yes" checkbox to limit the search results by these journals.
Do you want an interface for modifying the core journal set? Or is it so stable that getting CBIIT to run SQL scripts from time to time would be more appropriate? If the former, please create a new ticket for the interface (unless there already is one, and I just haven't seen it).
Thanks.
Could I get the set of journal abbreviations for the core journals? The list above appears to be a mix of full titles, abbreviations, and others:
'New England Journal of Medicine' NOT FOUND
'J Clin Oncology' NOT FOUND
'JNCI' NOT FOUND
'Nature Genetics' NOT FOUND
'Intl J Rad Onc Bio Phys' NOT FOUND
'Pediatric, Blood, & Cancer' NOT FOUND
Thanks.
I believe these are the journal abbreviations:
N Engl J Med
J Clin Oncol
J Natl Cancer Inst
Nat Genet
Int J Radiat Oncol Biol Phys
Pediatr Blood Cancer
To answer your previous question, we don't need an interface. The list of core journals is fairly stable. Thanks.
Ready for user review on DEV.
This looks good on DEV. Applying the core journal filter slows down the search quite a bit, but it works! Thanks.
Submit release-3.1-patch.sql to DBA team before code deployment.
This is REALLY SLOW on QA, too, but it is working! Verified on QA.
I suspect it will a bit faster on the production tier, but we've done some extensive investigation into possible approaches to this query, and we have come to the conclusion that there isn't any more optimization that we can do.
Thanks, Bob, we appreciate your efforts! You have just spoiled us with such a fast system that anything doing the speed limit seems slow!
Verified on PROD.
