Many Board members are interested in receiving e-mail notifications directly from the EBMS to alert them to things such as a new literature surveillance packet, a new post in their discussion forum, or a new meeting agenda added to their calendar. In order to do this, we would need to store Board member e-mail addresses and create a preferences page to give them the ability to opt in or opt out of various types of notifications. Some people don't want any notifications at all. It would be good to get an idea of the LOE required for this in order to determine whether to pursue it in this release.
Story points have been assigned (as well as we can without any further specifications for the requirements). Please let us know what you have decided about including this ticket for the release, and if it is to be included, what the complete list of notifications will be, along with specification of exact conditions triggering each notification, and what each notification should say. We'll also need to know if there is a requirement for recording the notifications.
We've decided not to implement this given the high LOE for development and maintenance (triggering notifications, managing preferences) and relatively low level of benefit.
