The macro has been updated and copied to the CDR/WordStartup directory on the group drive.

I need a volunteer who will replace the local copy of the macros file with the updated version on the network drive.

I volunteer 🙂. Can you tell me what at least one of the current TOC macros do so that I can compare after I copy the updates files?

, I'm assuming your MS Word is already setup to run the CDR Word Macros, right?  This is what you will have to do in order to test the modified macros:

  1. Copy the new macro file named "CDR_macros.dotm" from the network drive to your local drive
network location: L:\OCPL_Cross\CDR\WordStartup  (adjust the drive letter is necessary)
    local directory: C:\CDR\WordStartup

  2. If you have Word running, close the application

  3. Now open Word again

  4. Run a Summary Treatment HP QC report via the Admin interface or from XMetaL

  5. Copy the QC report

  6. Paste the QC report to a blank Word document

  7. Confirm that the QC report lists a section titled "Latest Updates to This Summary"

  8. Then run the summary treatment macro
If you have a button for the macro assigned, click the button
If you don't have a button assigned

  • Click the Developer tab

  • Then click the Macros button

  • Scroll down and highlight the macro with the name "Macro_treatment"

  • Click "Run"

  1. Once the macro finished running confirm that the section "Latest Updates to This Summary" has been removed.

Of course, JIRA's formatting in the edit window is different than the formatting in the Jira HTML display:

The bullet points are sub-steps for list item (8) and the last item listed as (1) would be (9)

I am able to confirm that the changes section was removed after replacing the macro file. I also worked with Bonnie to replace the macro file on her laptop and the problem she ran into was resolved.

That's great, !  Thank you for testing and working with Bonnie to setup the macro on her machine.

As a side note:  Obviously, we want everyone to use the most current macro file but keep in mind that not every user will need the newest changes in order to run their reports.  If a user never uses the Summary Treatment macro, they won't run into that issue of deleting the entire document.  For these users it is less urgent to have the Word macro file replaced.

I successfully installed (i.e., copied and pasted) the new macro and it works! I also sent the instructions to the other Board managers.

I have setup Robin's settings for Word and copied the macros to her new-ish machine which allows her to use the macros again. If there is any board manager who has trouble updating their macros file I'm available to assist.

In the meantime, I believe this ticket can be closed.
