The create table window appears to show style options we don't use in the CDR and the options are grayed out anyway.
Again, this ticket doesn't specify what the "improvement" is that is being requested. If our DTD doesn't allow specifying a given aspect of a table, XMetaL's interface shouldn't allow us to specify it. If there are decisions we made about what we will and will not support in our tables that you want to change, we would need to start a discussion with the WCMS team to find out if they are willing to support the additional elements/attributes.
This is more of a question of why XMetal 17 is showing us options we cannot and are not expected to use? XMetal 9 shows us the just the needed options. The preference would be to not display those options that are not needed.
This is not behavior over which we have any control. Furthermore, it is standard practice for software to disable and enable fields dynamically depending on whether the current state allows or forbids the use of those fields (we do that ourselves routinely in our own software), so the behavior of the XMetaL table wizard is appropriate.
