When a term in a summary section title is marked up with the gene name element in the CDR, it is not italicized in pub preview or CGov (correctly italicized in QC reports and XMetal only). Per email communication with Bob, this needs to be investigated from the CDR end.
Note: a GitHub ticket was created for this issue already, perhaps prematurely.

Clinical Management of Carriers of <GeneName>BRCA</GeneName> Pathogenic Variants
Genetics of Breast and Gynecologic Cancers (PDQ®)–Health Professional Version - NCI
Reassigning to ~volker, so he can figure out what the publishing filters are doing.
The filter is providing the correct HTML but the "summary loader" pushing the data to Drupal is stripping the markup.
Do we control the code that populates the summary pages in Drupal, ~bkline?
We do, and we're doing what Blair's specs tell us to do. Note that they require us to send (and store) plain text for that field, not formatted text.
I moved this ticket to the WCMS Dependencies sprint because it needs to be determined if the Title field in Drupal can receive markup text. As Bob said, the requirements are asking for unformatted text.
We decided last time at our CDR Status meeting that we would want to finish up the "Browser Title" ticket first before moving ahead with this ticket.
Could we please check on CG again if this is still an issue? It looks to me that the gene names are already properly marked up, including within titles, and this ticket isn't needed anymore.
