Request from Kevin Broun:
Can we get a report from CDR of new clinical trials on a weekly basis? I believe these should be new trials added to the system that are open for accrual. Ideally it would also include trials that were already in the database but have changed status from one of the non-accruing statuses to open.
In terms of format, it should probably be similar to the weekly report we have now for new/updated summaries - at least a title with a link to the trial on cancer.gov.
This will support the new GovDelivery Clinical Trials topic we're launching in the next couple of weeks, i.e. a moonshot-related priority that we'd like to have done by the end of June, but it's not a disaster if it takes a bit longer.
A patch has been created and applied to the following file:
R14074: DownloadCTGovProtocols.py (trunk)
This file populates a new column created (ctgov_import.became_active) to track the date a trial status indicates it's latest status to be available for accrual.
Created new report to list GovDelivery newly activated trials:
R14075: GD_NewTrials.py (trunk)
The report is located and run from \cdr\publishing just like
the GovDelivery New Summaries report
The new GovDelivery report has been reviewed by Kevin and is ready to be placed on PROD. Kevin would like the report to be ready by next week.
R14078: GD_NewTrials.py
I will try to get this put in place on Friday since the scheduled job is going to run on Sundays.
The new report has been implemented on PROD and STAGE via ticket WEBTEAM-8794. Since the scheduled job didn't get created in time to run on Sunday it had been manually run by CBIIT. The result for last week included 46 trials.
According to Kevin the number of trials on the report is too large to
be included on his GovDelivery newsletter and we will likely have to
change the requirements to only include "brand new" trials, i.e. those
that had never been published before. The original requirement was to
include everything that was new and active or had its status changed to
active.
This modified requirement may result in an additional database change in
order to capture the "first time activated" date.
A distribution list has been created to submit the weekly report to Kevin, Lorna Patrick and Meghan Byrne. The group is called GovDelivery Trials Notification.
The report is now running in production.
Closing ticket.
