We're updating the MS-Word macros after the Office 365 install. This update will require all board manager's macros to be updated with the changed version
PCIB has already gotten their shiny new version of O365 and it appears that we need to redo the setting in Word allowing the users to run Macros.
In File -> Options ->
TrustCenter --> Trust Center Settings...
Under Macro Settings check Enable all macros (not recommended)
In Trusted Locations replace the Word Startup directory
with
C:\CDR\WordStartup
In File -> Options ->
Advanced -> General -> File
Locations... set the Word Startup directory to
C:\CDR\WordStartup
Once the above settings have been restored the CDR Macros file will need to be copied from
L:\OCPL\_Cross\CDR\WordStartup\CDR_Macros.dotm
to
C:\CDR\WordStartup
With these changes the Word macros for summaries should work again without throwing an error.
Volker, I tried following the instructions above but I got stuck on
the last one:
In Advanced -> General -> File Locations... set the
Word Startup directory to
C:\CDR\WordStartup
Where is "Advanced"?
After the new macros definition file has been copied to the board managers computer, please have everyone double-check to ensure their individual macro is still working. As we have seen, Robin, I had to adjust yours and Sharon's macros to handle the formatting of the headings properly.
This still isn't working correctly for me, but I'm sure I'm doing something wrong. I copied the latest CDR_Macros file from the OCPL\Cross drive to my C:\ drive but I'm still experiencing problems with links and font types & sizes.
The macros for Sharon, Robin J, and Diana have been installed and are
working correctly.
Currently working on Victoria's and Val's macros.
I don't remember: Did Robin B. test her macro, too?
No she hasn't. She's out of the office, so we'll have to catch her next week.
The following users need to have the maro file updated:
Robin Juthe ✔
Diana Blais ✔
Victoria Shields ✔
Valerie Dyer ✔
Robin Baldwin ✔
Bonnie Ferguson ✔
Sharon Quint-Kasner ✔
Margaret Beckwith ?
I copied the new macros to Bonnie's computer but she doesn't have O365 installed yet. She will put in a ticket to get O365 and I will adjust her macro settings once that's done.
Hi Robin, Val is the only one who still needs to have her macros updated. Is she on vacation?
Val is going to give her macro a try today.
If Val has the new O365 we already know that it won't work. I will need to setup the macro and adjust the macro definitions in the O365-Word settings.
I installed the new macro on her computer a few weeks ago - it worked except she reported problems with the page numbers, headings, etc. She is going to follow my instructions to recopy the file and try it again to make sure it's working as she expects it to now.
She will also have to go to the Word options (File ->
Options -> Trust Center --> Trust Center Settings) and
allow macros to run.
Is Val in the office today? It only takes a few minutes to check the options and I'll be happy to check our her setup.
Yes she is~ sounds good! Thanks.
Everybody has the newest version of the macro file and the summary macros are working properly.
I believe this ticket can be closed now.
Agreed, thank you!
FYI - There are still some issues with underlining in the TOC, but I will open a separate ticket if we decide to fix that.
