We have two new correspondence mailers:

  • Editorial Board Comprehensive Review Letter (CDR733868 on BACH; CDR696964 on MAHLER)

  • Advisory Board BIG Thank You Letter (CDR722287 on BACH; CDR696963 on MAHLER)

Please prepare each letter in Times New Roman Font Size 10.5.

We would like to have two signature blocks adjacent to one another in the Advisory Board BIG Thank You letter. The first signature block should be that of the Editor In Chief; the second signature block should be that of the Board manager. (I will attach a sample letter)

Please format the signature block for the Board manager as follows in each letter (we are trying to begin standardizing this info across the letters). The only exception is that the Advisory Board BIG Thank You letter should not have the last line - "Enclosure".

PDQ Adult Treatment Editorial Board Manager

Enclosure

Please let me know if you have any questions. Thanks!

Lowering the priority for now.

Am I right in assuming I should ignore aspects of this request which don't agree with the exercise we just went through to standardize the mailer letters?

Comment entered 2013-09-03 13:53:01 by Juthe, Robin (NIH/NCI) [E]

Yes, that's right. This request precedes that work (and our move). Thanks.

Robin agreed that we could stack the address blocks for the AB BIG Thank You letter, because some blocks would be too wide to fit side-by-side.

Both new mailers have been implemented and installed on DEV.

The comprehensive review letter looks good.

The Advisory Board BIG Thank You letter is pulling in the wrong misc doc (the one for the regular AB Thank You). It should use CDR722287.

This has been fixed on DEV. Please verify.

I ran the AB Big thank you to check that it was using the correct misc. doc, but when I tried to open the letter from my email I got an error message telling me that IE cannot display the web page. What am I doing wrong?

Welcome to CBIIT's world! You have to open that URL from a browser on the bastion host.

I knew that!🙂 However, now when I try that I get the link to the letter, but when I try to open it I get a message that tells me I need to save the file, but I can't get it to do anything. There isn't an option to open it. Sharon is going to try it and see if she can get it to work.

Sharon was also unable to get the mailers to run. She got the same message I did about saving the document.

Sharon also looked at them and had this comment: The correspondence mailers look fine to me although I do not know exactly what Robin requested. It is the correct BIG thank you text and the addition of assistant information to the fax back form is clear. That the fax back information is in a table format should not be a problem as we wouldn’t typically have to edit this form before sending.

For this issue, the only item that remained to be tested was that it was pulling in the correct document. Since Sharon confirmed that, I'm marking this QA verified. Thanks!

Comment entered 2013-11-07 13:21:44 by Juthe, Robin (NIH/NCI) [E]

Verified on QA.

In addition to the issue reported in OCECDR-3679, the ordered list in the EB comprehensive review mailer is not indented on production. I just ran it again on QA and it was indented there.

The only correspondence mailer job run on the production server in the past week was job 11249. I have attached a pair of screen shots for the job, one for the list of RTF letters generated for the job, and the second for the relevant portion of the first letter, which appears to be indented correctly (red highlighting added to the screen shots). Is it possible that the user's copy of Microsoft Word is corrupted?

You can view the document yourself by following this link:

The items are indented when I pull this file up on my desktop and in the bastion host, so I'm afraid it may be a problem with Sharon's computer.

She might want to file a support request with the help desk.

Comment entered 2013-12-13 08:04:20 by Kline, Bob (NIH/NCI) [C]

I've diverted this ticket to your queue, Robin, so you can work with Sharon to get IT staff to address the problem.

Comment entered 2013-12-13 09:47:15 by Juthe, Robin (NIH/NCI) [E]

I've suggested to Sharon that she put in a help desk ticket. I don't think there's anything else left to do at this time, so I am closing this issue.
