Lakshmi talked to me today and said that the mobile information should not go out to the licensees. This means we won't need to make any changes to the licensee DTD but we'll need to adjust our post-processing filters to remove all mobile related tags.

Is that really what we want to do? If we just strip out the markup, they'll end up getting duplicate paragraphs (and other duplicate content). It would seem instead that to make this transparent for the licensees, we'd have to replicate the logic Blair's going to need to implement to suppress content which is not targeted to the "screen" device (which means you'll need to handle both "include" and "exclude" logic, as well as nested filtering).

That's correct. We need to create "screen only" output for the licensees.

The decisions we made for mobile related to content presented on NCI's mobile web site. I am concerned that content tagged to be excluded from mobile (such as More Information or About PDQ section in summaries) would be excluded from vendor implementation of mobile as well without the NCI context. I don't feel comfortable with content partners not showing these sections in their implementation.

We're going to make this change transparent to the vendors by replicating Blair's logic for selecting screen output.
