We have now added a new batch of drug combination terms to the Drug
Dictionary and they have links to the clinical trials in the
definitions. Since the way these got removed for the previous batch was
based on the fact that there is a Drug Combination Summary for the
combo, we can't use that to eliminate these search strings (until all of
them have DCS written). Possible solutions:
1. Hard code list of drug combo terms that shouldn't have the search
strings
2. Put an attribute (or something) in the term record to indicate
"Exclude clinical trial search string"
3. Other?

We had discussed last week that we should suppress the clinical search string for those terms with a SemanticType=Drug Combination.
(I have another note written that says: "Maybe add TermType=DrugCombination")
The two terms that Lakshmi had identified on BACH where
ABVE Regimen and
AC Regimen
Neither of these terms currently lists the SemanticType as Drug
Combination.
I'm increasing the priority based on last weeks discussion.

Yes, that agrees with what I remember (now that you reminded me!). We didn't want to mess with Semantic Type, and we decided to add a term type to capture these.

This means that the schema needs to be modified to add the 'Drug Combination' value to the LOV, right?
Should I go ahead and make the change to the schema and the filter on MAHLER?

I guess it would go in TermTypeName since that is where we have the legacy term DrugCombination. It doesn't really fit any of the categories well.

I've modified the schema on MAHLER
TerminologySchema.xml - R9437
and added the new TermTypeName string 'Drug Combination' and I modified
the filter
CDR000134: Vendor Filter: Term - R9438
to suppress the clin. search string when this TermTypeName has been
selected.
I've published the document
ABVE regimen (CDR652555)
from MAHLER and pushed it to the GatekeeperGK:
http://wwwgk.cancer.gov/Templates/drugdictionary.aspx?CdrID=652555
Please verify the changes.

The schema and filter have been copied to FRANCK and BACH:
TerminologySchema.xml - R9437
CDR000134: Vendor Filter: Term - R9438
Please verify on BACH (after the next publishing event) and close this bug.

I have added (on Bach) 'Drug Combination' TermTypeName to the two records mentioned in comment #1. I will wait for the next publishing job to verify on cancer.gov.

Or we could just hot-fix these terms.

I checked Cancer.gov for the two terms and the search strings have correctly been suppressed. As discussed in the CDR meeting yesterday, CIAT will add the new value to the affected terms. I will wait for Margaret to review the changes before closing it.

It looks fine on Cancer.gov. I would like to keep the issue open until CIAT has added the Term Type Name to the rest of the list.
