Description

I came across a few citations today that are missing text at the beginning of the title and/or abstract on PROD. In each case, the first word/words of the title and/or abstract were gene names.

I'll post a screenshot with some examples.

Actually, the markup can occur anywhere in the title - it doesn't have to be at the beginning - and the marked-up words will not display.

For example, the title for citation PMID: 28870997 appears as

"The Evolution, Functions and Applications of the Breast Cancer Genes BRCA1 and BRCA2." in PubMed and
"The Evolution, Functions and Applications of the Breast Cancer Genes and ." in the EBMS, where the two gene names BRCA1 and BRCA2 are missing from the end of the title.

Just adding a few more examples in case they are helpful: EBMS IDs 609443, 607469, 609760, 618265. The problem is more common than I had originally appreciated.

Ready for testing on DEV. Here are EBMS IDs and PMIDs for the ones that have inline markup on that tier. I suspect that when we built the EBMS NLM didn't use inline markup for the title element.

: we should probably close out Acadia before creating the Biscayne sprint in Jira. Can the rest of the Acadia tickets be closed?
