Attaching a screen shot.
I believe that this error is coming from the "APC" (Alternative PHP Caching) program. I think it's the same error that we saw in OCEEBMS-246. If so, it is not a bug in EBMS and not related specifically to anything that you, Victoria, did or that Minaxi did when she encountered the error, but is instead caused by an out of memory error on the server in the pool of memory that was allocated to APC. You'll see the bug only if a number of different users happen to each do something that uses a fair amount of memory at the same time.
If I'm right, you can do the exact same thing again to get to the home page and, this time, it will work fine. If that's not right, i.e., if you can reliably reproduce the problem, please let me know.
In the meantime, I'll try to figure out how much memory is configured for APC (I think it's only 32 MB, which is not a huge amount) and, unless I hear otherwise from you, put in a request for CBIIT to increase it.
Hi Alan! I have been able to get into the EBMS and do my work, and I'm no longer getting the error. So it's no longer a problem for me, but of course, I defer to you about the best way to prevent this from happening again. I never know when a seemingly innocent error might turn out to be a sign of later trouble!
I think you did right to report it. It's possible that this is happening to a lot of people but, when they try again, the problem isn't there, so they don't report it and no one who might be able to fix it ever learns that it's happening.
It is something we may be able to do something about. I'll put in a ticket with CBIIT asking them to investigate increasing the APC memory size.
I've created a ticket for CBIIT to look at increasing APC cache memory: WEBTEAM-6863.
I've added Bob as a watcher on both this EBMS one and that WEBTEAM one.
Sounds like a good plan. Thank you!
Kiran Bojja of CBIIT has reconfigured the memory for the APC cache controller, doubling the amount available. I am closing this issue as fixed on the theory that this has solved the problem. If it recurs, we can re-open it or create a new one.
