Is the context for this task the CDR and the EBMS, or does it include the investigation for cancer.gov is well?

As discussed in the status meeting, we'll limit the scope of this ticket to CDR (including filters) and EBMS. We'll enter a new C.gov ticket for changes on Cancer.gov.

Also, at this point we are looking to identify where to look for changes - not for a report of all of the places where we say PDQ. That will come closer to the time of making the change.

As a very high-level overview, we can say that there are three different types of places in which "PDQ" is used in the CDR and the EBMS.

  1. externally visible - this is presumably the context we care about the most, and I assume that our goal should be to eliminate all appearances of "PDQ" on cancer.gov and the EBMS (with the possible exception of pages which are referring the PDQ in the context of historical information about the NCI); examples would be "About this PDQ® ..."; this might also include references to "PDQ" in documentation provided to our data partners (to which we will presumably no longer be referring as "PDQ data partners")

  2. publicly available in metadata - there are places where the HTML markup uses "PDQ" in names of elements, attributes, and similar usages; we probably care less about these, and removing and/or replacing these instances is unlikely to be a priority; this category might also include element names in the documents provided to our data partners (for example, "PDQSponsorship" elements), which might be considered as falling somewhere between categories #1 and #2

  3. invisible outside the NCI - we have lots of places (internal documentation, element names which don't get published, etc.) where "PDQ" shows up, but which aren't accessible to anyone outside the firewall; I assume we don't have any incentive to eliminate these, right?
