Markup is displayed in the summaries TOC report results in the browser. However, this markup is "lost" when the report is copied/pasted into Word. Would it be possible to preserve this markup so we can easily copy/paste this report into a version that we can share with a Board member? Thanks.
Adding an older issue in case its solution might be useful here.
Just to confirm, I'm assuming (nudged in this direction by the second issue to which you provided the link) that you're talking about the original meaning of markup, and not the overloaded meaning of "markup" added in discussions about the CDR ("insertion/deletion markup"), right?
(I have taken to using the less ambiguous phrases "display markup" or "HTML markup" to distinguish the original meaning from the new one which has been added to refer to Insertion and Deletion elements in the CDR.)
Thanks.
Can you provide a list of specific markup you want preserved? I was surprised to see (after reading the issue description) that the colors, font size, centering, and list hierarchy are all preserved when pasting from the report to Word (see attachment). Perhaps my first assumption (see the previous comment) is wrong, and you're really talking about Insertion/Deletion element content being lost.
I'm referring to insertion/deletion markup. Sorry for the confusion.
Could you give me an example?
Robin will provide an example of a summary with markup in headings on DEV.
The Cancer Genetics Risk Assessment and Counseling summary has quite a bit of markup in the headings on DEV. CDR62865
Just so I don't fall into the same trap that caught Volker earlier: when you say "copy and paste" you mean exactly that, and not "Edit with Word" right?
Yes, I mean copy & paste. Thanks.
Markup dumbed down for Microsoft Word on DEV.
Let me know if this works in your installation of Word, ~juther.
Just an FYI:
I heard (and confirmed) that the Edit with Word function is
identical to saving a web page as HTML document and opening this with
Word. The copy/paste function, however, is different.
I was always under the impression that copy/paste and Edit with
Word were the same.
Yes, this works for me. Verified on DEV. Thank you!
Verified on QA.
~juther, I believe this is the last Hawking ticket to be closed. Working OK on PROD?
Yes, this is working well on PROD. Thank you!
