I am including the email thread from Kim since I am not 100% sure what we need to do in the CDR. The top email is the most recent:
Hi Margaret-
The following changes should be made by CIAT for country and political
sub units in CDR:
1 - Country of Ireland: Rename to “The Republic of Ireland”
2 - Create the following political sub units for the country of
Ireland:
Cork
Dublin
Limerick
Waterford
3 - Those for countries then need to be added to the CTEP_States
mapping table, corresponding to:
Co Cork
Co Dublin
Co Limerick
Co Waterford
I think that should fix the issues we are having. We have the countries correct otherwise, but are missing these “states” in Ireland.
Thanks!
Kim

Hello,
I spoke with our systems and it comes down to we are using a different list of codes for the country field than your system. Either CTEP or PDQ will have to agree to change or we need to map the data. My guess is mapping is the lesser of all evils in this case. Perhaps we can bring this up on the next CTRP call. I believe you attend those weekly meetings as well as our IT staff.

Let me send this over to systems to look at the format of the file. ECOG does have sites in England and Ireland so the information is not necessarily incorrect. I am looking at the address information for some of these sites in RSS at it coming from CTEP as:
Cork University Hospital
Wilton Road
Cork, Co Cork __ IE
I think the “Co Cork” is coming across as the “state” and IE for the country code.
Thanks,
Martha

Hi Martha-
Hope you can help me out with this.
In our data feed for ECOG-E1505, we are receiving sites in the UK, in
Ireland. The state is coming across as Co then the city name (Co
Limerick for example).
Should these “states” be reconsidered to be Ireland? These are causing
validation errors on our end and the sites are not updating.
Thanks,
Kim

It looks like these are all things CIAT can do. The first involves editing CDR43788; the second involves adding new CDR PoliticalSubunit documents; the third involves filling in the mappings using the external mapping table administrative interface.

Great! I wasn't sure if would require any kind of global change to anything.

I have updated the country record for Ireland and created the new political sub units. I have also updated the mapping table.

Per our discussions on Thursday, I contacted Kim about the ISO standard name. I am attaching my email to her and her response:

The ISO standard name is still "Ireland" and not "The Republic of Ireland" so I switched the country name back to "Ireland".
I am marking this issue as resolved.

We decided last Thursday to close this issue since there is nothing
else to be done at this point.
