When we started to store board meeting recordings we modified the publishing document to exclude all audio files from being published. We will need to modify this in order to allow the glossary audio files to be published.

When we made the change back then Lakshmi had suggested to add an attribute to the media documents indicating which of the documents should be included for publishing.
Does someone remember if we did that or not?

Yes we did that. We added a "Usage" attribute to the Media element with "Internal" and "External" values.

Great! But the Usage attribute isn't currently used, or is it? That will need to change.

We may want to run a global to populate this attribute before we start loading the pronunciation files.

Right. They are not being used. We can either globally populate the existing board recording media docs or we can ask Bob to modify his program that will populate the new audio pronunciations to add the attribute to the media docs. On the other hand we can do both. Which means our procedure for creating the board meeting recording would have to change from now on to always add the attribute with a value of "Internal".

Let's discuss this at our meeting tomorrow.

I'm thinking we should probably

  • change the templates to add the attribute

  • perform a global to set the images to 'External' and current sound files
    to 'Internal'

  • have Bob import the new audio files and populate the attribute

and when all of this is done

  • make the attribute mandatory.

I've modified the publishing document (CDR000178) on MAHLER to adjust the selection criteria so that the meeting recording audio files (@Usage='Internal') will be excluded and the pronunciation audio files be included in the set of Media files to be published.

Testing of the change depends in part on OCECDR-3358 since any audio file selected for publication will fail until the publishing software allows it to be processed.

Do you mean to make it default to "Internal"?

Do I need to create bugzilla issues for the above ? I guess I have forgotten what the decision was last week.

Currently we're using two different Media document templates:
Media.xml - for images
and
MediaAudio - for Meeting recordings.

For the MediaAudio we certainly want to set the default to "Internal".
If we want to set the default for other Media documents to "External" or not is debatable.

At a minimum we will need to set the attribute to 'Internal' for the meeting recordings. This could be done as a global or - since there are not too many of those at this point - manual update.

Created OCECDR-3365 for the MediaAudio template modification.

We do have about a year's worth of board meeting recordings. With Alan on vacation, it looks like we may have to do this manually. Hopefully, it is not so pressing.

The Media documents for the Meeting recordings have been updated with the value of "Internal" for the Usage attribute.

No, please leave it open until all of the Media issues are moved to production. This will happen early next week.

All of the changes are in production since Sunday night.

After we've gone through Friday's regular weekly publishing job without problems we should probably be able to close these issues.
