We need to remove the protocol submission form so that it isn't available when one does a Google search. The Liaison Office will still need to be able to access it using the URL.

I'm considering four possible techniques, to be used in combination to the extent that each works and is appropriate:

1. Change the names of the scripts (effectively changing the URLs) and only
give those URLs to the Belgian office). This would involve a fair amount
of work to find all the places that need to be changed and to test the
results.

2. Modify the code to only allow submissions from a logged-in session,
and restrict access to credentials known to be used by the Liaison
Office.

3. Modify the web server to map a different DNS name to the application.
We'd probably need the cooperation of the infrastructure team to
implement this.

4. Restrict access to the application to the IP address(es) used by
the Liaison Office. This will only be possible if they are using
fixed IP addresses, instead of a DHCP server to dynamically allocate
addresses to their workstation(s).

Can you ask them whether they can use fixed IP addresses?

I have implemented the first technique on Verdi (my code was cleaner than I feared it might be, so the task was pretty simple). The old URL [1] now sends visitors to CTRP, and the new one [2] should still work. Please test and if the results are satisfactory we can install on the production server and discuss which of the other techniques (if any) we want to use in addition to this one.

The new CTS urls are working on Verdi again:

http://verdi.nci.nih.gov/submission
http://verdi.nci.nih.gov/liaison-office

You might want to test the liaison-office portal a bit to ensure that it's working properly, and that your review page is still functional before we put it into production and turn this over to Brussels.

As agreed yesterday, we tested the liaison office submission yesterday but have not seen the trial on the review page yet. Do you have to run the program manually for us to see it?

I'll need to do some modifications on the Windows side. Are you testing from Franck or Mahler?

I looked the review page on Bach only. But you can make the modifications on Mahler.

Verdi is our test CTS server; nothing you do there will ever show up on Bach. Please test on Mahler.

I tried another test submission which has not showed up on Mahler yet. Should I check on Monday? Meanwhile, the previous submission appears to be displayed on the review pages (I will need to ask confirmation from Judy, since she tested that submission).

It won't show up on the review page unless/until it's actually been submitted (the one created yesterday was submitted, but not the one created today).

I submitted the one I created today. I went through the process to the last page where you check the agreement box and submit the entries.

I must have done something wrong the last time. I tried another test which showed up correctly in the list.

Changes to wording to show people who try to use the old url:

"The PDQ Clinical Trial Submission Portal is no longer available.

Please see the Clinical Trials Reporting Program for information about registering NCI-funded trials."

Please include a link to the CTRP site as you had done. Lakshmi reviewed this and made changes also, so we are good to go.

Promoted to schubert (with modifications in wording). Please check (and have the liaison office do some testing). The new URL for them is:

http://pdqupdate.cancer.gov/brussels/submission

The old URL is:

http://pdqupdate.cancer.gov/submission

We decided in today's meeting to close this issue since the Liaison office has
been using the portal without any problems.
