We started generating Gen. Prof remail mailers from the beginning of December. However, there seems to be a problem with the selection (or may be just the recording in the mailer history). It appears that a remail mailer is being generated for some Gen. Profs. each time we run the remail mailer job. Even in cases where the remail job is run multiple times on a certain day, a mailer history is recorded multiply for some of the Gen. Prof. documents.

Example: CDR0000665105 Sadie P. Hutson

The mailer history is as follows (excluding legacy mailers):

CDR684677 Genetics Professional-Annual update 2010-08-30T12:17:55
CDR690966 Genetics Professional-Annual remail 2010-12-08T15:53:46
CDR691587 Genetics Professional-Annual remail 2010-12-17T09:47:52
CDR692011 Genetics Professional-Annual remail 2010-12-28T09:48:35
CDR692049 Genetics Professional-Annual remail 2010-12-28T09:52:34

The above Gen. Prof. received remails on 12/08, 12/17, 12/28 & 12/28 again.
What probably complicates this problem is that the above Gen. Prof. had returned mailer 684677 on 2010-09-12 but it is not recorded in the mailer history.

Another Example: CDR0000664680

CDR684647 Genetics Professional-Annual update 2010-08-30T12:17:55
CDR690954 Genetics Professional-Annual remail 2010-12-08T15:53:46

CDR691557 Genetics Professional-Annual remail 2010-12-17T09:47:52
CDR692002 Genetics Professional-Annual remail 2010-12-28T09:48:35
CDR692016 Genetics Professional-Annual remail 2010-12-28T09:50:24
CDR692030 Genetics Professional-Annual remail 2010-12-28T09:52:34

Doesn't look as if the software for task #4900 ever got tested. I found and fixed a bug which was preventing some of the tracking documents from being updated. I've run the fixed update job by hand, which appears to have updated the tracking documents (but you should check behind me to verify that).

Bear in mind that the update script (as noted in issue #4900) runs once a week early Sunday morning, so Monday morning is the best time to run remailer jobs.

Since the update script affects what is selected for remail would it be possible to schedule the script to run 2 times in a week instead of just once? This will give us two days option (Monday & Thursday, for example) to send them.

Is it OK to have all the email tracking documents updated on Wednesday night (in addition to the already scheduled Sunday run)? All of the updates are performed by the same script (not just the GP emailers), so I'd have to do some refactoring of the software in order to have different schedules for the different types of mailers.

In that case let's hold off for now. I believe Lockheed maintains documents that have email tracking as well and this may negatively affect them. I will raise this issue again if we run into any problems.
I will close this issue after reviewing the updated documents.

It seems the problem has been fixed. I just ran the annual remail job and no documents were selected. However, I am going to keep this issue open until next Monday and close it after reviewing a few documents.
I have lowered the priority to P7.

There were still no documents selected for remail so it is likely this problem is solved. I am closing the issue. Thanks!
