We rarely remove documents from Cancer.gov and even less so
summaries. Typically the summaries are being removed as part of the
weekly publishing job.
When I tried to run a hotfix-remove today for two CAM summaries the
publishing job failed with an error:
Aborting: more than 0 errors encountered
publish: Aborting on warning(s) detected in CDR0000446574.
I could be wrong, but I think hotfix-remove worked for me at least once from Blair's DEV VM talking to red as part of the CTS project.
We do have different paths of removing documents. One is as part of
the regular nightly or weekly publishing (Interim-Export or Export job).
This may also work if you're publishing an entire document type. This is
the option when you enter individual document IDs to be removed.
It would be interesting to know if this did work because then the
problem could be related to DB access.
Do you still have the publish.log logfile?
Attaching the publish logs (compressed) from Blair's VM.
You're right! I see you've used this option plenty of times successfully.
Maybe this is only a problem on Fridays. I ran the hotfix-remove
again today and it was successful. It must have been a network/DB
problem last week causing the job to fail.
I guess I can delete this ticket.
